Animayo is a European Summit of animation, visual effects and video games that is born in Spain, directed by the Spanish director and producer Damián Perea, current a Spanish Ambassador of the European Animation Émile Awards.

Created in 2006, it takes place in the month of May on the island of Gran Canaria and extends its programming to other cities in the world. Currently traveling in Madrid, Barcelona, Los Angeles, Mumbai, Lisbon and Lanzarote.

The program includes an Official Section, resulting from an annual competition of 2d animation works, 3D animation, visual effects, experimental, publicity pieces, animation spots, video clips, video game cinematics, visual effects series and animation series.

It has been chosen by the Academy of the Arts and Cinematographic Sciences of Spain as a collaborating festival of the 31st edition of the Goya® awards, in the category of best short animation, for the preselection and inscription of the works of Spanish animation.

Winning films (Palmarés) are screened during the festival, and there are master classes of international artists, lectures, courses, workshops, training spaces, outdoor activities, and a European forum for co-production, financing and tax incentives for professionals.

For six years, Animayo has also launched several projects for training, employment and recruitment of audiovisual companies and investors.
