- Submission Info
We are looking for great independent animation to show in Washington, DC, a media hub of the United States. We have begun expanding into longer animation films and welcome feature-length submissions as well as animation shorts and experimental work. As a competitive film festival, our submission fees are very fair and are entirely used for programming and filmmaker relations.
We work with established and novice filmmakers by creating strong, popular film and media events that attract people and attention to independent film as a creative engine. DCIFF is an internationally-recognized, award-winning festival. Our mission is to support filmmakers through exhibition, professional development and representation.
We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, color, sex, age or disability; nor on the basis of film genre (we do not accept adult films), film length or film format. It is our intention that all submissions be given equal opportunity. All submissions are screened by a committee of two and selection decisions are made based on a mix of quality, originality, wow-factor, smarts, beauty and, where relevant, social value. DC Premiere required, East Coast and U.S. Premieres preferred. Our submission fees allow us to cover the cost of filmmaker support: press, screenings, seminars and outreach.
