Encounters is UK’s leading short film, animation, and virtual reality festival with a 6 day event that takes place during September in Bristol, UK. Alongside its own prestigious international competition and awards, it is also a recognised festival for the Oscars, BAFTAs and European Film Awards.

Encounters seeks to promote the importance of short animation as a means to develop the next generation of animators, and to provide a platform for new and emerging talent to exchange ideas, form collaborations and inspire audiences.
